The cottages are situated on a spacious private estate on the top of a hill, in the midst of lots of fruit trees next to the village of Torremenga in the rural district of “La Vera”. You get there on a paved farm track.

From here you can enjoy stunning views over a big part of “La Vera” and the Tiétar river valley.

During harvest time you have the possibility to taste delicious fruits directly from the trees. There is a private swimming pool for our guests on the estate, surrounded by peach-trees.

The landscape is still generally unspoilt by the tourism and rich in flora and fauna species. You can go fishing in one of the abundant water reservoirs or enjoy walking through impressive forests of Iberian Oak and Holly Oak trees or wide spread wood pastures (dehesas). Spectacular hikes are possible in April when all the cherry trees are in bloom. The warm family ambience as well as the hospitality of all the people living in La Vera will surprise you and ensure a trusting and benevolent atmosphere.

Near the estate "Los Cotos":

• In Torremenga (a five minute walk) you can find a tobacconist’s where you can also buy postcards and stamps, a grocery store, bars, a doctor’s office and a pharmacy.
• In Jaraíz de la Vera (about 3 km from the estate “Los Cotos”) are supermarkets, a health centre (open 24 hours), bars restaurants and discotheques.
• In Plasencia (about a 25 minute-drive from Torremenga) you will find everything a medium-sized Spanish city of about 40.000 inhabitants can offer you, including a 13th century cathedral and an impressive ‘Parador’.
